How to prepare for GK in CGL Exam?

SSC CGL Exam 2018 Syllabus

One question that every candidate ask is the source of study and we always recommend there is nothing best than the NCERT books from class 6 to 10. Other than that Lucent’s GK book is also a good medium.

Candidates tend to focus on current affairs however if we analyze the hierarchy of SSC CGL Exam 2018 Syllabus and also the previous ones, more emphasis is on the static GK. The former one is important in Bank exams though.

Give yourself time for revisions frequently. And, if you are reading anything on the internet, make sure you save the source so when you will be revising, you have it handy.

If we divide the syllabus of general awareness, 58% goes to static GK, 37% to Science and rest 5% to others section. Other section includes important dates, people in news, current affairs etc. You can divide your priority accordingly. GK part is something candidates try to avoid but if done in a proper way, it is a confirmed way of getting more marks in less time.

Time management is everything in any government exam because out of 10 candidates who know the answer perfectly, the winner is always the one solving the question in lesser time. This is a heads up for every candidate. Study in a focused manner and do well!
